Message from the President
Throughout my career at global IT companies, including IBM Japan, I have been deeply involved in organizational management and talent development for many years.
At the milestone age of 66, driven by a desire to apply the experience I had built up to support Japanese workplaces and the future of local communities, I established Working Japan Co., Ltd., a recruitment agency for foreign talent. Today, Japan faces severe and ongoing labor shortages not only in the IT sector, but across many regional industries including caregiving, food service, hospitality, manufacturing, and agriculture. I feel that this challenge extends beyond individual companies—it is a critical issue affecting the sustainability of local communities as a whole.
At Working Japan, in addition to placing IT engineers and providing offshore development support, we help organizations adapt their workforce strategies to local and operational needs by offering recruitment and retention support for foreign talent under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa program.
Hiring foreign talent is not merely a means to fill a gap in labor. I firmly believe that a perspective centered on "retention" and "coexistence" is essential—one that encompasses not just the working environment, but also an understanding of life, culture, and community integration. Having built a family with my Indonesian wife and lived within a cross-cultural environment, I truly value providing hands-on support that looks beyond mere regulations and theories to address real-world needs.
